Terms of Service

1. Agreement to these Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Japanzy Live mobile application (the "App"), japanzy.com (the "Website"), and related features, data, and services (collectively, the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

2. The Services

Japanzy helps users discover public live-camera streams from locations across Japan. The Services may also provide search and filtering, favorites, recently viewed cameras, Japan-related news and event listings, service announcements, camera reporting, feedback, and links to external services.

No login or Japanzy user account is currently required. We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features when reasonably necessary, including for maintenance, security, legal compliance, or third-party service changes.

3. Camera streams and availability

• Camera streams are published and controlled by third parties, generally through YouTube. Japanzy does not own, film, schedule, or operate them.
• A listed stream may be delayed, unavailable, offline, inaccurate, replaced, restricted by region, or removed without notice.
• Labels such as location, city, category, live status, or verification status are provided for convenience and may not always be accurate or current.
• Japanzy may add, remove, hide, or update a listing at any time, including after receiving a report.

Do not rely on a camera stream for emergencies, public safety, navigation, weather warnings, transportation decisions, or any other time-sensitive or high-risk purpose. Consult official authorities and services.

4. News, events, and informational content

News headlines, summaries, dates, source names, event details, and links may originate from third-party publishers or organizers. This content is provided for discovery and general information only. It may be incomplete, delayed, changed, or inaccurate. The original publisher or organizer remains responsible for its content. Follow the source link and verify important information directly before relying on it.

Japanzy does not provide legal, medical, financial, emergency, travel-safety, or other professional advice.

5. Acceptable use

You may use the Services for lawful, personal purposes in accordance with these Terms. You must not:

• violate any applicable law or the rights of another person;
• attempt to bypass security, access restrictions, rate limits, or third-party platform controls;
• interfere with, damage, overload, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Services or supporting systems, except where applicable law expressly permits;
• use automated scraping, crawling, or bulk extraction against the Services without our prior permission;
• submit false, abusive, unlawful, infringing, malicious, or misleading reports or feedback;
• introduce malware or harmful code; or
• misrepresent your affiliation with Japanzy or any camera owner, publisher, or organizer.

6. Feedback and camera reports

You may voluntarily submit feedback, suggestions, or camera reports. You remain responsible for what you submit and represent that you have the right to provide it. You grant Japanzy a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, adapt, and share the submission only as reasonably necessary to investigate a report, respond to you, operate or improve the Services, and protect users or our rights.

Do not submit confidential information, sensitive personal information, or content belonging to someone else. We are not required to implement a suggestion or take action on every report.

7. Intellectual property

The Japanzy name, logo, App and Website design, original software, and original Japanzy content are owned by Japanzy or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Subject to these Terms, Japanzy grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Services for personal, non-commercial purposes.

Third-party videos, thumbnails, trademarks, headlines, articles, event materials, and other third-party content remain the property of their respective owners. Their appearance does not imply sponsorship or endorsement by Japanzy unless expressly stated.

8. Third-party services and terms

The Services may embed or link to YouTube, news publishers, event organizers, Buy Me a Coffee, app stores, and other third parties. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and policies. Japanzy does not control and is not responsible for third-party availability, content, security, data practices, transactions, or conduct.

When using an App distributed through Google Play or the Apple App Store, the applicable store terms also apply. If a mandatory store term conflicts with these Terms, that store term controls only to the extent required.

9. Voluntary support

The Services may contain a link allowing you to voluntarily support Japanzy through Buy Me a Coffee or another external provider. Support is optional and does not purchase digital content, unlock App functionality, create a subscription, or entitle you to special treatment. Payments are processed by the external provider under its terms. Except where required by law or the provider's rules, voluntary contributions are non-refundable.

10. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the Services, submit a report or feedback, play an embedded video, or open an external service.

11. Copyright and listing concerns

If you own or represent a camera stream, image, article, trademark, or other material and believe a Japanzy listing infringes your rights or should be removed, contact us with:

• your name and contact details;
• identification of the work or listing;
• the relevant Japanzy URL, camera ID, or other location information;
• an explanation of your concern and your authority to act; and
• any information reasonably needed to verify the request.

We may remove or restrict content while reviewing a request.

12. Disclaimers

We do not warrant that the Services, any camera, or any third-party content will be uninterrupted, current, secure, error-free, or suitable for your needs. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Japanzy and its operators, contributors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, use, goodwill, profits, opportunity, or revenue arising from or related to the Services, third-party content, unavailable streams, or your reliance on displayed information.

Where liability cannot be excluded, it will be limited to the minimum extent permitted by law. These limitations do not apply where prohibited by applicable consumer law or to liability that cannot legally be limited.

14. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold Japanzy harmless from third-party claims, damages, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use of the Services, your submission, or your material breach of these Terms. This section does not apply to the extent prohibited by consumer law.

15. Suspension and termination

We may restrict or terminate access to the Services when reasonably necessary to address abuse, security threats, legal requirements, third-party restrictions, or a material breach of these Terms. You may stop using the Services at any time and may uninstall the App.

16. Changes to the Services or Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes in the Services, providers, or law. We will post the revised Terms here and update the date above. Where required, we will provide additional notice. Your continued use after the effective date means you accept the revised Terms.

17. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the operator of Japanzy, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except that mandatory consumer protections in your place of residence continue to apply. Before filing a claim, please contact us and allow a reasonable opportunity to resolve the issue informally. Any unresolved dispute may be brought before a court of competent jurisdiction, subject to mandatory applicable law.

18. General provisions

If a provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, it will be modified only as much as necessary and the remaining provisions will remain effective. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our consent; we may transfer these Terms as part of a reorganization or transfer of the Services, subject to applicable law. These Terms and the Privacy Policy form the agreement between you and Japanzy regarding the Services.

19. Age requirements

The Services are not directed to children under 13, or a higher minimum age where required by local law. If you are below the age of legal majority where you live, use the Services only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.
